The Wonderfactory is a a premier interactive design agency in New York City, specializing in User Interface and Visual design for clients like The Washington Post, Martha Stewart, WebMD and The Food Network.

We are looking for a UI designer that:
• Works closely with Sr UI Designer to translate requirements, feature concepts, use cases and design challenges into site maps, user flows, user scenarios, wireframe schematics, prototypes and functional specification documents.

• Has a core understanding for web-based design and implications of dynamic User Interface Design

• Creates highly usable and innovative web-based sites & applications.

• Learns & understands the core usability constructs and UI design principles.

• Support user experience research and usability testing efforts to ensure that the user interface is useful and extremely easy to use.

• Is an active participant in user centered design activity & be a constant advocate for the end user.

• Collaborates as integral member of the UI design, visual design and development teams

• Identifies, addresses and solves user interface design problems

• Learns, understands and interprets user research and usability testing and effectively applies the findings to designs

Requirements:
• Qualified people have 4-6 years experience developing UI/IA projects, a thorough understanding of user-centered design principles, usability testing, client presentation skills, writing skills, functional specification documents and experience organizing complex information.
• Familiarity with principles of Web development
• Knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite, MAC OS, including Omnigraffle
• Bachelors or higher degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science or related field.
• Approaches design conceptually and thinks about interaction systems, not just screens
• Is highly organized and detail oriented
